SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES, SAMPLE RETREAT I:
Saturday Evening: Introduction to Embodied Movement & Focus: “How do we use the Feldenkrais and other methods to tune in and shift our focus and our structural bodies?” Sunday Morning: Mat Class I: Allowing the body to breathe itself. Using micro-movements of the trunk and related chakra sounds, allow the body to find its own ease in breathing. Sunday Evening: Praying Hands: Using a traditional prayer position of the hands, tune into our shoulders, rework our connection of eyes to hands and movement, and watch for the expansion of range of motion. Monday Morning: Hips and shoulders. Continuing the work we started on the trunk with breath, allow for new relaxation and coordination through focus on the left and right sides of body. Monday Evening: Rolling the arms and shoulders. Using simple if unexpected movements of fists and arms, tap into the body’s potential to release unnecessary tension in the shoulders and beyond. Finishing up with some “praying hands”! Tuesday Morning: Forming a base with the pelvic clock. Super focus on micro-movements of the seat of our body change even the balance of head and feet. Tuesday Evening: Brief group meditation and group discussion: The meaning of tension, celebrating our bodies, allowing for physical pain and difficult emotion, authenticity, and incorporation. Wednesday Morning: The complex world of the head, neck-throat, and eyes. The voice as the “bridge” chakra between the support structures and deeper, higher consciousness. |
Wednesday Evening: quickly revisit our breath, and “Chakra Toning,” singing to the energy centres of our body with specific pitches, vowels, and musical backing.
Thursday Morning: Pelvic Possibilities, and more attention on shoulders and rotator cuffs. Thursday Evening: “Moving through many rhythms.” An evening of dance to world music of all tempos. Friday Morning: A trip to the beach to do: NOTHING,. followed by a group chat. Friday Evening: Talent time! A little talent show where people can sing, dance, read, paint, tell a story, show off anything they'd like. Saturday-Tuesday (recommended): Departure OR: Enjoy LifeCo’s normal program to build back from your detox, and book your private session intensives with Clara. Evenings begin with centering meditations to set intention, and then spent doing art & writing (abstract or picture collages, drawings, journaling). A chance to incorporate the work of the past week and sit in quiet creativity. |
